Ukrainian money - grivna

Ukrainian Money Tips

Currently Ukraine is almost exclusively a cash payment country. Visa or MasterCard are accepted rarely. Even if you see appropriate sign, this option often is not available. You won't find the name American Express almost nowhere, as well as other credit card types.

The national currency of Ukraine is grivna. One (1) grivna = 100 kopeek.

Current US dollar rate is 5,12 grivnas.

Don't exchange your money in the airports or railway stations. The exchange rates at those locations are low. We strongly recommend you to make currency exchange only in special bureaus of exchange with the sign "Currency Exchange". Don't do it with individuals.

It may surprise you, but old US dollar bills, or worn-out dollar bills are not acceptable. Make sure, that you have new and clear bills.
